TENACIOUS D
Tenacious D is a band. Two guys with guitars and a voice that shoots straight to the people. Comedy, rocking riffs (written as fast as they can), spiderman being sodomized by Sasquatch. All this and more are gifts of Tenacious D for you.
Anyone who has seen the HBO episodes can see that Jack Black and Kyle Gas are brilliant comedians, pretty good actors, and KICK ASS musicians! I was lucky enough to meet the D backstage in Chicago at their June 13th 1999 show at the House of Blues and find that the pair are just as cool in person as they are on the tube. Others backstage included hillarious comedian and Jables' g/f Laura Kitelinger, Don Cheadle (Boogie Nights), Neve Cambell, and John Cusak - there filming Hi-Fidelity with Jack. Cusak also did the obligatory introduction, which went somewhat as follows: "... the band you are about to see is on the last leg of their North American tour. They have seen a lot of faces, and they have kicked those faces' asses. Get ready to have your faces' asses KICKED,... TENACIOUS D!!!!!"
